7 Layer Bars (No Nuts)

These are addictive – typically made with coconut, but this version is nut-free. (Replace butterscotch chips with shredded coconut and exclude oatmeal for the typical 7 Layer Bars).

7 layer bars - no nutsIngredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups peanut butter chips
  • 1 ½ cups butterscotch chips
  • ⅓ cup oatmeal
  • 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place the butter in a 9×13-inch glass baking dish and put in the oven until it melts.
  3. Remove the dish from the oven (careful, it will be hot!) and stir in the graham cracker crumbs. Once the crumbs are moist, press them evenly into the bottom of the dish.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, then the peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips and oatmeal over the crust. Pour the contents of the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the whole dessert.
  5. Bake the bars for about 18-20 minutes, or until bubbly. Remove from the oven and cut when cool.
